It's all about the BEST PARTNERS.

 Heading soon to Timor, to work with Curtis Gabrielson - sharing my Science Oasis experience with remote KP's (emerging STEM learning spaces) and help launch a Girls STEM CLUB project (UNESCO). Then India, sharing educator PD, Ed research and outreach+exhibit strategy workshops with one of India's most professional education foundations (Agastya International Foundation). Then Korea to talk on exhibit development process +practice at the International Symposium for Science Museums, and reconnect with Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity (KOFAC). 2019 - looking to return to Mongolia, where schools, NGO's ,special needs educators, environmentalists, health professionals, are interested in seeing my programs run there.. Ones like the special ED teacher PD and SCIENCE OASIS building I lead in Zimbabwe supported by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is seen as a good mix. Sooner or later I will stop circling Nepal and Bhutan, and plunge on in. Thoughts are with the People, of  Indonesia and Lombok.  Perhaps the Indonesian Science centres (that the Australian Embassy, Indonesia and I have helped develop over many years), might like to join on establishing a Science Oasis in Lombok?

AustraliaFest 2018 draws to a close. 2 visits, 3 cities, 4 programs, 100 educators, 1000 students. Supported by the Australian High Commission in New Delhi, and The National Council Of Science Museums (NCSM) of India, I was able to contribute to the Science and Education component of the AustraliaFest cultural exchange program. The collaboration was to share innovative approaches to mathematics education, especially in the area of computational thinking, problem solving skills and maths engagement. It's Primarily About Thinking Outside The Box

Its Just ASTEP to the right. The ASTEP program (Australia/Asia STEM Educators Progam) that I ran earlier this year, supported by the Australian Government through DET and DFAT, allowed me to share some approach and activities with STEM educators in several South East Asian countries. It was a great experience, and the workshops were so well received that I was asked back to run some more. This time I was able to work with almost all of the educators within one of  the great international schools within Vietnam. the AIS ( Australia International School) in Ho Chi Minh City). The professional development was able to coincide with the start of the new school year and the orientation week for the newly recruited primary school educators. The AIS is like many of the leading  international schools in the region, they are linked in with educational frameworks such as the IB PYP/MYP system. Papua - In SIX Easy Pieces - #2 The Oasis

Part 2 - West Papuan Mount Zaagham School Project:  2017 Effective development initiatives have legacy - longer term impact. Form the Papuan project with Mount Zaagham School (MZS) - the PTA wanted a lot of enrichment activities. The Students were at a very good school, and we had great support from the PTA and school leadership. So we set an ambitious goal -  To make the world's most remote mini science centre ( that I know of) in about 6 hrs. I coined the name "Science Oasis".  If successful, the mini centre, the collection of basic exhibits would remain, as a small retreat, rich in self directed learning. And of course, every Science Nomad journeys from Oasis to Oasis. Some basic material sourced in the community (thanks Katherine) to feed into the Science Oasis project.
